groin region

By stimulating the lymph nodes and lymph vessels in the inguinal region, lymphatic flow from the lower extremities, pelvis, and genitals is promoted.

Abdominal area

The abdomen is gently massaged to promote lymphatic flow from the internal organs and support detoxification of the gastrointestinal tract.

Upper thigh

By gentle stroking or pumping movements along the front of the thigh, the lymph flow is stimulated. The therapist works his way from the knee to the groin, supporting the drainage of fluid and waste.

Medial/lateral thigh

The medial and lateral areas of the thigh are also treated with gentle stroking movements to improve lymph flow. The therapist works in an ascending direction from the back of the knee to the groin.

Lymphatic Drainage

If there is a disturbance in lymphatic drainage due to various conditions such as lymphedema, lipedema, post-treatment after breast cancer, or swelling during wound healing, lymphatic drainage can provide relief.

With decongestive techniques, lymphatic drainage improves fluid flow, reduces swelling, and alleviates pain.

Lymphdrainage

Mobility without pain

The lymphatic system is an essential part of the immune system and plays a crucial role in detoxifying the body, removing waste products, and regulating fluid balance.

Lymphatic drainage is often used to reduce swelling, alleviate inflammation, and accelerate the healing process. It can be applied to a variety of conditions and complaints, including edema, postoperative swelling, injuries, sports injuries, lymphatic congestion, and lymphedema.

During the treatment, gentle, rhythmic movements and specific hand techniques are used to stimulate lymph flow and activate lymph nodes. As a therapist, I work along the lymphatic pathways to release stagnations and promote the flow of tissue fluid.

Lymphatic drainage can be performed manually or with the help of devices. Manual lymphatic drainage involves specific hand movements and techniques, while mechanical devices can provide intermittent compression massage to improve lymph flow.

The benefits of lymphatic drainage include reducing swelling, improving circulation and lymph flow, alleviating pain, promoting detoxification, strengthening the immune system, and enhancing overall well-being.

Pressure points and functions

Here are some important pressure points and their functions in lymphatic drainage:

  1. Neck and Clavicle Region: Gentle pressure on the lymph nodes and lymph vessels in this area promotes lymphatic flow from the upper extremities, head, and neck.

  2. Axillary Region: The lymph nodes in the armpits are stimulated to improve lymph drainage from the arms.

  3. Ingrown Area: Stimulation of the lymph nodes and lymph vessels in the ingrown area promotes lymphatic flow from the lower extremities, pelvis, and genitals.

  4. Abdominal Area: The abdomen is gently massaged to encourage lymphatic flow from the internal organs and support detoxification of the gastrointestinal tract.

  5. Facial Region: Gentle massage and stimulation of the lymph vessels in the face can reduce swelling and improve skin health.
